Shaved beef, summer veggies, is there any good recipe for those items from Asia?


Are you looking for a good recipe for shaved beef and summer veggies? Here is a recipe. The recipe uses Korean Gochujang and sweet-spicy hot pepper paste from Korea.


The eggplants absorb the sesame oil and create great savory flavor with the Korean Gochujang.


The summer veggies also will have a wonderful sweet taste being sautéed and mixed with the paste!


The beef, eggplants and the other veggies create a great harmony after all thanks to this great Korean hot pepper paste.


And of course, like the other recipes introduced on this site, this recipe is ketogenic and low carb. I am using alternative ingredients to replace some of the starchy, high-carb ingredients.

Ketogenic beef recipes| Beef is great source of protein & minerals

Beef is great source of high-quality protein and minerals. Especially for those who are on the Ketogenic diet, beef is one of the ingredients that is recommended to add in your meal.


One of the important things which is contained is “Essential Amino Acid.” Human bodies are made by 20 kinds of amino acid, and the “Essential Amino Acid” is what people cannot create in theirs own bodies. To obtain it, we all have to intake from food.


Beef is one of the great source for the “Essential Amino Acid.” It depends on which parts of the meat however it anyway contains certain amount of it.


On top of that, besides “Essential Amino Acid,” Beef also contains potassium, Vitamin B1, B2, B6, B12, Zinc, Iron, Selenium, Niacin, Phosphorus etc…so much of those rich minerals.


Those vitamins is vital for body growth, maintenance, blood formation, energy metabolism etc.


Because it contains high-quality protean, it also helps you keep maintaining the muscle mass which may be lost if you have luck of nutrition. It definitely helps the Ketogenic dieters who can intake only limited amount of food daily.


There are many benefits that you can obtain from consuming beef. It is definitely an ingredients that can added to ketogenic daily meal.




Ketogenic beef recipes| Ingredients

I used those items to make the plate however you may replace some of those vegetables depending on what you have in your fridge. Onion and eggplants are essential.


  • Shaved beef

  • Eggplant

  • Onion

  • Tomato

  • Sake(White wine)

  • Soy sauce

  • Psyllium husk

  • Sesami Oil

  • Garlic

  • Roasted white Sesame

  • Whole Earth (Sugar substitute Stevia/Erythritol)

  • Gochujang



As carrot, eggplant, gochujang contains some carbs, be careful with the amount of the carb that you are consuming.

Alternative ingredients to make it Ketogenic

Those are the alternative ingredients that I am using to make the dish ketogenic.

  • Psyllium husk = potato starch(×5)
    If you want to use potato starch, you will need five times more amount of it.

  • Whole Earth = Sugar(×2)
    If you want to use sugar instead of the Whole Earth, you will need to use 2 times more amount of it.

Essential Paste

The Korean hot pepper paste is essential for this dish. I usually use this one from O’Food as it is rated well in South Korea, the USA and Japan.

However, as gochujang contains tiny yet certain amount of sugar, be careful with the amount that you put.


This recipe uses a table spoon of gochujang, and that contains 6g of sugar.

Ketogenic beef recipes| How to make

Let’s cook it!


1 Cut Onion, Eggplant, Sweet peppers to narrow forms. Carrot should be sliced to small pieces.


2 put the shaved meat in a small bowl, and marinate with 1 tsp of sake and soy sauce each.

3 Sprinkle psyllium husk on the meat and mix it well.

4 In a cup, mix all the ingredients marked ” *”.

5 Put 2 tbsps of sesame oil on a pan, and sauté the eggplant with medium heat. When all the eggplants are well done, put it away on a plate.

6 Put rest of the sesame oil on the pan, and sauté the shaved meet, onion, and carrot. Still with medium heat.

7 When the onion gets done, put the tomato and sweet pepper. Put back the eggplant in the pan too.

8 Put the sauce on the pan and mix well.

  • 300 g Eggplant
  • 250 g Shaved Beef
  • 90 g Onion
  • 1/2 Tomato
  • 30 g Carrot
  • 50 g Sweet Pepper
  • 1 tsp Sake (White wine)
  • 1 tsp Soy sauce
  • 2 g Psyllium husk
  • 3 tbsp Sesame oil
  • 1/2 tsp garlic paste *
  • 1 tsp Roasted white sesame (Black can be ok too) *
  • 1 tbsp Sake (White wine) *
  • 1/2 tsp Whole Earth *
  • 1 tbsp Gochujang *
  • 1 tbsp Soy Sauce *

Instructions
